An Isolated barangay called Balogo in the municipality of San Sebastian, Samar, is one of the CEST communities being assisted by our PSTC Samar. With 15 4Ps families as members of the women association in the said barangay who is engaged in instant salabat project, the program is expected to uplift slowly their living conditions.
Challenged to sustain and nurture their livelihood project provided by DOST and DTI Samar, representative of the association and the lady Barangay Captain assured us that they will sustain the project. Hopefully thru this program this women's group will be empowered. - Ramil T. Uy

Community Empowerment Thru Science and Technology (CEST) is one of the banner programs of DOST which aims to deliver sustainable development to various communities nationwide through the provision of S&T interventions along the five CEST entry points, i.e. Livelihood, Health and Nutrition, Environmental Protection and conservation, Education, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management.
Part of this activity is the awarding of the 2020 BEST Community. An Award given to the CEST Community beneficiary who has excelled in the implementation of the program which will be selected from several entries nationwide.
